How does this affect you?
Ansvar will provide Calliden with a list of expiring home insurance policies 5-6 weeks before expiry. At the same time, Ansvar will send you as the Broker or AR a decline renewal notice.
Calliden will assess the policy against its own underwriting criteria. For non Callibrate business, Calliden will advise you by email or letter within 4 weeks of expiry, as to the terms and conditions on which it is able to offer cover. If you have an existing arrangement with Calliden and transact on the Callibrate platform, you will continue to have access to the same suite of Calliden domestic policies and will find our terms for the former Ansvar-underwritten policy uploaded there.
Our new approach to flood cover for home policies was set out in our letter to current Calliden brokers in March 2011. We have adopted a revised underwriting and pricing approach for riverine flood risks which is based on exposure to particular postcodes. We have also included further exclusions, conditions and excesses together with a list of the policies to which these amendments apply. For further information please speak to your Development Manager.
The new underwriting methodology will be effective on 1 May 2011. You can download a pdf detailing the postcodes where flood cover will NOT be available here.

Differences in cover?
What is the difference between Calliden’s and Ansvar's home and contents policies?
We will be providing you with a matrix in the next week which outlines the differences between the Ansvar and the Calliden home and contents policies. Your development manager will also be able to advise you on the major differences. Please ensure you read the Calliden policy wordings to familiarise yourself with them. Flood is included as standard on all Calliden home and contents policies subject to certain exclusions, conditions, excesses and a flood waiting period which are all set out in our product disclosure statements.
